BOOKKEEPER/ACCOUNTANT

Reporting to the Senior Pastor, the bookkeeper will facilitate all day-to-day operations of the finance/accounting department, including budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable (giving/donations), general ledger, payroll, and audit preparation. The bookkeeper will collaborate with a variety of internal constituents, including the Senior Pastor, Treasurer, finance committee, and department heads.

The bookkeeper will be charged with identifying new opportunities to improve efficiencies, eliminate backlogs, and respond proactively to departmental needs. He or she will need to
analyze the existing processes and systems and work closely with the Senior Pastor and
Treasurer to streamline current systems, leverage new information technology, and establish standard operating procedures that provide maximum benefit to all parties involved.

This is, initially, a part-time position/contract with the potential of it becoming full-time in the future.

LEAD PASTOR

Yarrow Alliance Church (YAC) seeks a lead pastor who has a calling to lead our church community to achieve its God-given mission and vision. We seek a lead pastor who will embrace this church and the community of Yarrow and be prepared to settle in for the long term.

Yarrow Alliance was founded in 1958 and currently serves not only the town of Yarrow, BC, but also the surrounding areas of Sardis, Chilliwack, and Abbotsford. There are currently 511 people in the church directory and 103 of those listed are official members. The congregation has identified the size and condition of our facility as our biggest need and have raised over $400,000 towards a future building project. The spirit of volunteerism is alive at Yarrow Alliance, with 78% of the congregation actively serving in at least one ministry. We are a young church, with 68% of our congregation under the age of 40.

We seek a sincere, relational, and transparent leader who will share his/her life with us and join us in embracing people, wherever they are at in their journey.

Our next Lead Pastor must be a competent biblical preacher and a developer of leaders who will collaborate with the Board of Elders and congregation in the development and achievement of vision; someone who will discover and share our conviction that God has a future and a purpose for our church in our community.

We seek a leader who is able to inspire and motivate people in deed and word. The church seeks a leader who leads with a collaborative leadership style – a person who enjoys working with people and equipping them for ministry and community service.
